Kleines Pils, Schultheiss: 1,70 Euro. „Der Zwiebelfisch wurde am 3. November 1967 erstmals urkundlich erwähnt bei der Berufsgenossenschaft, und die nimmt es sehr genau. Seit dem 16. August 1982 bin ich hier. 24 Jahre lang habe ich darüber nachgedacht, wie man das Lokal mit drei Worten beschreiben kann. Dann kam ein Brite mit seiner Freundin aus Malaysia, und er hat ihr erklärt: ‘This is a down to earth bar’. Danach habe ich immer gesucht. Das schönste Getränk, das ich kenne, ist Bier. Da ich aber mit Alkohol schlecht umgehen kann, habe ich mich für das zweitschönste entschieden: Kaffee. The “Zwiebelfisch” [literally: Onion-fish] was officially mentioned the first time on 3rd November 1967 by the Employer’s Liability Insurance Association which knows those things in the strict sense. I’ve been here since the 16th of August 1982. For 24 years I was thinking about how to describe this pub in three words. Then a British came along with his girlfriend from Malaysia and he explained to her: ‘This is a down to earth bar’. I was in search of that all the time. The finest beverage I know is beer. Because I cannot deal with alcohol pretty good, I’ve chosen the second finest: coffee. I’d like to be just a guest.” Hartmut, 66, from Osnabruck, in Berlin since 1967, innkeeper,
