Charlottenburg station, early 80s
In den siebziger Jahren verfielen in West-Berlin viele S-Bahnhöfe. Die S-Bahn wurde von der DDR-Reichsbahn betrieben, nahm die Zahl der Fahrgäste rapide ab. Die BVG baute das U-Bahnnetz zum Teil parallel aus.
During the seventies many railway stations in West-Berlin degenerated. The “S-Bahn” was operated by GDR’s “Reichsbahn”, numbers of passengers dropped rapidly. BVG transport partly developed network of the underground railway.
